Welcome to St Bartholomew’s!

known as "the Cathedral of the Colne Valley"

We are a friendly group of Christians meeting regularly in this beautiful Parish Church, set in the lovely Pennine village of Marsden.

We would love you to join us in our worship and to take part, with us, in this spiritual journey of exploration of the Christian faith.

Every 6 years all the parish churches in the Church of England must completely re-write their electoral roll. To be eligible to attend the church annual meeting, you need to be on the new roll. All existing members have been contacted with application forms. If you have not yet returned them in the envelope provided, and you want to remain on the roll please return the form immediately. If you are not on the roll and wish to be so please contact David Corps (details on the attached).  Deadline 23 March.

As our regular readers will know, we are now in interregnum (vacancy), following Revd Robin Townsend's retirement.  This is just to confirm that our services will continue at the sames times - 9.15am on Sundays and 9.30am on Tuesdays.  Getting a new priest is a lengthy process in the Church of England, but we hope you will take this opportunity to come along and hear other ministers preach the Christian Gospel.  We will have visits once a month from Revd Janet Sargent from St Peter's, Huddersfield and Revd Martin Lowles of St James' congregation, Slaithwaite.  Other visiting priests will officiate on other Sundays.

We are still supporting THE WELCOME CENTRE at the Methodist Mission in Huddersfield. This is a food bank for families in crisis that are referred to them by frontline professionals.

If you wish to contribute to the food bank's work there is a box at the back of church for your contributions. You can bring items any time the church is open - Sundays (9.00-10.30am), Tuesdays (9.15 -10.15am).

At present they are particular short of:

Tinned meat meals, tinned fish, tinned vegetarian foods, tinned corned beef/ham, stock cubes, dried mash, jam, jars of paste, instant noodles/rice/pasta, sugar, as well as toiletries, posts and pans and bedding.  For full current list see -
